Former Boston Bruins forward Loui Eriksson has announced his retirement from professional hockey through a post on caahockey's Instagram account.

Eriksson played his last professional season in 2022-23 with Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League, where he had 11 goals and 19 points in 34 games. This is after he had three goals and 16 assists in 73 games with the Arizona Coyotes during his final NHL season in 2021-22.

Eriksson memorably spent three of his 16 NHL seasons with the Bruins. The Original Six club acquired him as a part of the trade that sent Tyler Seguin to the Dallas Stars.

Eriksson appeared in 224 games as a Bruin, where he had 65 goals, 147 points, and a plus-28 rating. His best season as a Bruin was in 2015-16, when he had 30 goals and 63 points in 82 games. Following this campaign, he landed a six-year, $36 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
