Former Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman passed away at the age of 38

Sad news for the Philadelphia Eagles community as they have lost one of their own.

ESPN reported that former Eagles linebacker Bryan Braman passed away at the age of 38. Braman was fighting a rare, aggressive form of cancer that required multiple surgeries during treatment he was receiving in Seattle.

This story gained momentum over the last few weeks as former players, such as J.J. Watt, became involved in donating to his cause. According to ESPN, Braman's GoFundMe page had reached over $88,000. Braman's agent, Sean Stellato, added that he had two daughters, ages 11 and 8.

Braman's legacy he leaves behind won't be forgotten

The Houston Texans signed Braman after the 2011 NFL Draft, as he went undrafted. He spent three seasons with the team as a backup, as he racked up 38 tackles, one quarterback hit, one fumble recovery, and a half sack in 46 games.

Philly would bring him in after that, as he would play four seasons with the Eagles. He played in 51 games and finished with 18 tackles, one fumble recovery, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, and one sack. Braman was a special teams ace who helped the Eagles win their first Super Bowl in 2017, as he played in all three of their postseason games.

The most memorable moment of Braman's time with the Eagles was during the NFC Divisional Round game against the Atlanta Falcons in 2017, when he blocked a critical punt by Matt Bosher. Philly would go on to win the game 15-10 and was one of the sparks that drove the Eagles to that historic Super Bowl title.

It's a sad reminder of how precious life is and how short it can be. Braman was a contributor on the Eagles, and that is something the fan base will not forget.

On behalf of everyone at Inside The Iggles, our thoughts and prayers are with Braman's family and friends during this difficult time.
