Love Island star Olivia Hawkins has revealed that her stint on the reality show has made dating more difficult. The 28 year old appeared on the winter series of the hit ITV show in 2023 and was in a couple with Maxwell Samuda before they were dumped on day 45.
Since her time on the show, Olivia reflected on how her experience has changed the way she dates. Speaking to the Daily Star at the launch party of O Beach, where SHEIN was celebrating their Island Edit, Olivia revealed: "I am dating but I'm not in a rush to settle down. Love Island has definitely hindered things I'd say, it's so much harder now."
She continued: "You don't know people's intentions, it's a lot harder. I think people assume we're probably more intimidating or something now. The only way people approach me mainly is on Instagram, but they don't even message, it's just a like of a story or something!"
After leaving the villa hand in hand with her ex Maxwell, 25, the couple decided to split just weeks after the show ended. Maxwell opened up about their relationship on the Murad Merali Podcast where he said: "The main thing I would say with the whole situation, when you're in the villa and even just after the villa but you're still in South Africa together, it's a very different environment.
"All that you have to focus on in that period of time is each other and kind of just being on holiday together and it's kind of easy to have a great time when you're on holiday. But once you come back home and there are all these other things going on that then take your attention and take your focus."
He added: "It really gives you the opportunity to look at it and think is there really longevity in this situation or is it that we've connected and really got on but outside in the real world we're just not too sure if it has that same longevity to it."
Olivia jetted off to Ibiza for the SHEIN x O Beach takeover as the brand celebrated another summer of sponsorship. The star attended the VIP-filled party at the O Beach where she caught up with many TV pals.
To mark the launch of the partnership, SHEIN hosted an exclusive fashion show to showcase their brand-new Island Edit available to shop online and at their residency pop up offering the guests the opportunity to shop their favourite pieces throughout the season.
