Former Pittsburgh Penguins forward Josh Currie has signed with the Graz 99ers, an Austrian team that competes in the International Central European Hockey League (ICEHL).
That team announced the transaction via a release on Tuesday.
A native of Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, the 32-year-old Currie spent the 2024-25 season with Kolner Haie of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany. Appearing in 49 games, he scored 23 points (12 goals, 11 assists).
Currie played one game for the Penguins during the 2020-21 season and did not record a point. He also served as captain of the American Hockey League’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins that season, posting 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 24 games for that club.
In addition to the Penguins, Currie has played for the Edmonton Oilers.
