Former Real Housewives of Potomac star Candiace Dillard Bassett revealed why she left the show

Recently, Candiace Dillard-Bassett was a guest on the “Healed Girl Era” podcast. She discussed a wealth of topics, many of them having to do with “The Real Housewives of Potomac.” However, one of the most notable topics came when she discussed her reasoning for leaving the hit Bravo show.

She said, “When I found out I was pregnant, there wasn’t even a thought in my mind. It was like, ‘Well, we’re gonna step away.'” She went on to discuss her final reunion and how she felt about the cast that season.

Candiace said, “And I went through the whole reunion because we weren’t ready to announce that I was pregnant yet, and I had been asked to dial back at the reunion. Meanwhile, on the other side, they were dialed up and coming at me at level 27.”

Candiace Dillard-Basset then added, “So it was like, was I told this so that they could be told that so that they could look one way and I could look one way, or did they just not follow directions?”

Candiace Dillard Bassett Is Now a Mother

Candiace announced that she and her husband, Chris Bassett, were expecting their first child on April 15th of 2024. This came after Candiace had been open about her IVF journey on “The Real Housewives of Potomac.”

Fast forward to November, and the former “RHOP” star announced that she and Chris had welcomed a healthy baby boy into the world. The couple named their son Jett, which means excellence and abundance in Hebrew.

His full name is Jett Maxwell Lee Bassett. She stated that it took them the whole pregnancy to pick a name for their son.

Candiace told PEOPLE, “He is just the cutest little thing. Chris and I couldn’t be happier. It’s so cliché to say, but he’s brought such joy to our lives in ways I never would have been able to describe before. It’s pure love!”
