Former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Reveals the 1 Thing She Misses About the Show

Ariana Madix Says 1 Thing She Misses About 'Vanderpump Rules'

Ariana Madix revealed the biggest thing she misses about filming “Vanderpump Rules,” months after a reboot of the Bravo reality show was announced.

In a May 2025 interview with Bustle, the veteran Bravo TV personality said she misses her close relationship with the crew behind the scenes. “Sometimes our crew was the same people we would work with year in and year out,” she told the outlet. “I see some of them sometimes, but it’s not like how it was. It’s nice to know that some of them aren’t on the show anymore, so now we can really talk.”

In November, Bravo announced that season 12 of “Vanderpump Rules” would feature a new cast of SUR employees, officially confirming the end of a long run for Madix, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Tom Schwartz, James Kennedy, and Lala Kent.

Ariana Madix Only Talks to a Few Former VPR Cast Members

The 11th season of “Vanderpump Rules” ended with Madix walking out of a group event after refusing to film with her ex, Tom Sandoval. Kent and others criticized her for not fulfilling her filming obligations.

Madix told E!! News that she hadn’t talked to Kent “at all” since filming wrapped and that she is distanced herself from others. “I don’t talk to any of them,” she added of her former castmates.

She told Bustle that the exception is Maloney, who is also her business partner for the Something About Her sandwich shop. “Katie and I talk every day,” Madix clarified. “Not only is she a really great friend of mine, but we’re in business together. Scheana and I will say hi every now and again. It’s about to be her birthday, so we’ll check in.”

Madix added that she is also still close with “Vanderpump Rules” season 8 cast member Dayna Kathan.

Ariana Madix Decided to Leave VPR Before the Reboot Was Announced

While Bravo made the decision to recast “Vanderpump Rules” for season 12, Madix has said she never intended to go back to the show. “I don’t think I was ever going to go back to Vanderpump Rules. That’s the first time I’ve ever said that publicly, but I was never going to,” she told Deadline in March. “It just didn’t feel right. Not in any sort of rude way, not in a professional, ‘We don’t need this,’ not in a, ‘I’m too good for this’, but it just didn’t feel right.”

“If I did go back, I wouldn’t have been able to do the job that would make a good show. And so it just wasn’t going to make sense, the story didn’t make sense,” she explained.

In the May 2025 interview, Madix said she would “never want to do anything that ever resembles something like a ‘Vanderpump Rules’ ever again.”
