Things are continuing to heat up between Jacob Trouba and the New York Rangers.

According to the Fourth Period, the Detroit Red Wings, Buffalo Sabres, Anaheim Ducks, and Nashville Predators have all reportedly expressed interest in Trouba’s services.

The Rangers were trying to clear cap space this summer and Trouba was a prime candidate to get moved with his $8 million cap hit.

There was a rumor going around that the Rangers were working on a deal to send the veteran defenseman to Detroit, but it’s unclear if the two teams are still in communication and how far talks actually went.

Trouba is No. 2 on the Fourth Period’s summer trade watch board.

When asked about Trouba’s future, Rangers general manager Chris Drury didn’t reveal very many details.

“Jacob plays hard every night, provides a lot of leadership for us,” Drury said via The New York Posts’ Mollie Walker. “Jacob knows what I think of him as a person and a player and I'm going to keep any private conversations I have with him or his agent keep it private.

Now that most free agents have already been signed, it will be more difficult for the Rangers to move their captain, which will make for an interesting situation if he is still in New York for the start of training camp given all the rumors surrounding him.
