From Housewife to Heroin Addict! Cynthia Bailey Like You’ve NEVER Seen Her Before in Shocking New Role | LOOK!

*Hollywood drama will replace reality TV chaos for Cynthia Bailey as she takes the lead in the upcoming sports drama “Diamond.” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” (RHOA) fixture will star in the film with former NFL star turned actor Vernon Davis (“The Ritual Killer”), and Jemarcus Kilgore (“All’s Fair”), Deadline reports.

Written, produced, and directed by DeShon Hardy, “Diamond” centers on the title character Diamond McCarren, a 17-year-old basketball phenom who fights to escape the cycle of trauma threatening to consume his future.

Diamond’s father (Davis) behind bars, along with his mother (Bailey) spiraling deeper into heroin addiction do not make it any better. As a result, Diamond puts the weight of a broken home on his back while clinging to the hope of a Division I scholarship.

Although a college coach’s visit provides his shot at a better life arrives, Diamond’s mother suffers a devastating overdose. Torn between chasing his dream and caring for the only parent he has left, Diamond makes a life-altering decision that challenges everything he thought he knew about loyalty, ambition, and manhood.

In the aftermath, his sacrifice becomes the first step toward healing a family on the brink.

Commenting on his coming-of-age drama, Hardy labeled “Diamond” as “more than a sports story.”

“At its core, this film is about resilience, survival, healing from generational trauma, and the transformative power of love,” he stated. “I wanted to shine a light on the strength it takes for families to rise above circumstance, and how even in the darkest places, hope can survive.”

“When I read the script for Diamond, I was immediately drawn to its honesty and emotional depth,” Davis, who will pull double duty as the film’s executive producer under his Reel 85 Productions banner, said. “I’m proud to help bring a film to life that not only entertains, but also sparks conversation and inspires change.”

“Diamond” is currently filming in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Like Davis, the feature’s story struck a personal nerve with Bailey, who relished the chance to sink her teeth into a “meaningful role.

“This story really touched with me. It showed how families can stay together through any and everything,” she voiced. “I wanted the opportunity to play a meaningful role and when I read this script, I knew this was it.”
