NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman shared officially that the cap would rise by $4.5 million to $88 million for the 2024-25 season, as reported by Frank Seravalli.
The salary cap floor will be $65 million next season, and only a handful of teams will need to spend to reach that level.
Gary Bettman spoke to media on Saturday and said teams are excited to see the cap officially rising, and by even more than they thought.
With that news in mind, it could significantly help Patrik Allvin and the Canucks, as he's got 11 contracts to renew. The extra money could help the team bring back some of their best players, such as Dakota Joshua, Filip Hronek, Nikita Zadorov and Elias Lindholm.
The Oliver Ekman-Larsson buyout will have a significant impact on the Canucks' spending, but this salary cap increase will help them navigate through it.
