General Hospital Sets the Stage for the New Michael’s Debut — and Drew’s Long-Awaited Downfall

There’s gotta be a reason that General Hospital has yet to let Michael finalize his divorce from Willow. Yes, he’s away recuperating from the burns he sustained in the explosion at Sonny’s penthouse. (Here are the suspects in that crime.) But he is able to speak and surely is being kept in the loop about his estranged wife’s actions by mom Carly. Why is he doing… nothing?

The answer seems likely to be that the show is planning a big comeback for Michael (via the recast that’s reportedly underway) at the Nurses Ball. As a fan suggested on Reddit, he could make his grand reentrance, win his divorce and tank Drew’s political career in one fell swoop by playing the video of his uncle getting it on with his missus. What’s more, if Tracy or Ned fills in Michael on the fact that Drew previously slept with Nina, he could torpedo the sleazebag’s relationship as well as his career — and, as an added bonus, drive a wedge between Willow and her mother!

Once the fit hits the shan, we could finally be launched into the “Who tried to kill Drew?” mystery we’ve been anticipating. (Almost anyone could turn out to be whodunit; see for yourself.) In the aftermath, Michael would have no trouble winning custody of his kids from former cult member Willow. He could then “adopt” Sasha and Jason’s baby, which is really his, anyway, and make the noble gesture of raising the child with its mom, who has become his biggest defender.
