General Hospital spoilers gush a fan theory about Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) helping Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) fake her January 2023 death by Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) poisoned hook is setting the internet ablaze this week with delight.
Here’s what we know. Britt is alive. She’s living a somewhat luxurious but also fairly confined life in Croatia.
We have no idea why the mystery man controlling her every move could relegate her to the hotel for the evening when she wanted dinner on the town, but she was recently given the pass to travel internationally.
Regardless, now fans are speculating that Brad, her former best friend, orchestrated the ruse that was her death — perhaps with an antidote or staged collapse — to save her from her Huntington’s Disease certain fate. But what’s Brad’s motive, and will his secret start to come apart at the seams?
Brad’s Role in Britt’s Escape Sparks Debate
The idea that Brad aided Britt’s faked death has fans really dishing out some tall tales about how they think this is going to work out, especially after Jason’s Paris glimpse confirmed Britt isn’t gone.
Britt’s “death” in Liesl Obrecht’s (Kathleen Gati) arms seemed final, but fans theorize Brad, a lab tech with access to drugs, swapped Heather’s poison for a harmless substitute or slipped her an antidote.
His loyalty to Britt, forged through years of friendship, suggests he helped her escape to Dubrovnik to spare her family the pain of her illness. Yet, fans wonder: is Brad protecting Britt, or hiding a darker agenda? Could this be why he left town a few months ago?
A Hidden Motive Lurks Beneath
It would’ve been rather simple for Brad to slip into GH’s lab and concoct a faux poison or antidote. But if that’s what happened here, it would serve us right to explore what motives Brad would’ve had in doing so.
Did he act out of love, or is he tied to a larger scheme, like Professor Henry ‘Hank’ Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) tech plot? Liesl, unaware of Britt’s survival, might turn on Brad if she learns he kept her in the dark.
Will Brad’s secret hold, or will his endgame — perhaps leverage over Britt — surface? Say it ain’t so; would he really turn on her?
Will Brad’s Secret Save or Slaughter Britt?
It’s harmless to explore this theory that Brad played a role in Britt’s faked death. If that’s the case, will his actions shield Britt from the decline she is sure to face with Huntington’s hanging over her head, or will his own agenda surface that brings new problems to the table she wasn’t expecting?
After all, when he fled Port Chuck for a “better life,” he was doing so on the heels of extorting money from Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) and blackmailing Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr).
It’s not as though he ever really turned over that alleged new leaf, even if his heart still bleeds for his ex-hubs, Lucas Jones (Van Hansis).
