General Hospital Spoilers for July 10, 2025: Is Vaughn Agent Cates’ Son? Fans Think He’s Gunning for Sonny Too

General Hospital (GH) spoilers imply that many fans have been left speculating since a close moment between Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy), recently.

This is when Josslyn confided in her WSB partner, telling him her reason for joining the agency was to nail her stepdad, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Vaughn told her that he, too, would tell her his “real” reason for becoming a superspy, someday, which had GH viewers wondering what that reason is.

Ties To Port Charles?

For the most part, Vaughn is a mystery, which can mean that he has secret roots to “someone” from Port Charles, either past or present.

John “Jagger” Cates (Adam J. Harrington) had ties to the little town, and while he was more a fan favorite when Antonio Sabato Jr. played him back in the day, Cates did create quite the impact during his most recent run.

Cates was a villain through and through, who used his FBI status as a way to plummet back into PC and gain some long-needed revenge against Sonny. He failed, as Sonny ended up shooting and killing him, so could Vaughn have the same motives as Joss, just from a different perspective?

If Agent Cates was his known bio dad, entering the WSB would be a way for him to walk in his dad’s footsteps. Meanwhile, entering the land of Port Charles and gunning for Sonny would also be a way to avenge his death.

Could Vaughn Be Gunning For Sonny, Too?

How and why did Vaughn land in Josslyn’s orbit? What really brought him to Port Charles and this WSB head office in particular? Was it pre-planned on Vaughn’s part? Is he hoping he can bring down Sonny?

This may be the reason he hesitated in telling Josslyn about his motives behind joining the superspy game. While they are on the same page, Josslyn may have been put off by this admittance. Perhaps Vaughn has Sonny on his radar for some revenge of his own.
