General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal this really could be the end of Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) this time around. Even though Kin has announced his exit many times on social media throughout the years, it looks like he’s really gone for good this time.
It’s Been Close To A Year Since Kin’s Last Appearance As Scott
Nearly a year has passed since Scotty Baldwin disappeared without a trace on General Hospital. It seems that this time, it might truly be the end for Kin Shriner, the actor who portrayed him intermittently for four decades.
Over the years, Shriner has shared several farewells on social media, yet Scotty always managed to make a comeback after a few months.
However, Shriner has now disclosed that Jens Austin Astrup (Kai Taylor) has taken over his longtime dressing room. This suggesting that Scotty’s time in Port Charles may indeed have come to a close for good.

“This moment arrives for every actor,” Shriner posted on X, previously known as Twitter; “Kin who!!” The only thing you can do is wash it down with a martini and accept that every day, fans want to snap a photo with you. I had an amazing experience, and I appreciate the support from General Hospital fans over the years!
On June 15, Shriner shared a video of himself knocking on his own dressing room door, captioning it, “Who is it?”. He also recently tweeted that last summer, he had to have two operations on his foot, which put him out of commission, but he was never called back to the show!
What Really Happened To Scotty, The Storyline Was Never Resolved
Port Charles residents haven’t spotted Scotty since August 16, 2024, when he was assisting Ava Jerome (Maura West) in keeping the pharmacist who tampered with Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) bipolar medication captive.
He had stepped out to grab some snacks for the man, but before we knew it, his snack bag was lying on the ground, and Scott had vanished.
Since then, Scott has hardly been mentioned, except when Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) took over Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) cobalt poisoning case due to Scotty’s unavailability.
Other than that, it seems no one is concerned about the fate of the legal expert. Scotty has been a vital part of the Port Charles landscape off and on at least, for many years.
Shriner Started On GH In 1977
Shriner kicked off his career on General Hospital in 1977, portraying Lee Baldwin’s (Peter Hansen) young adult son. His romantic storyline with teenage Laura Webber (Genie Francis) endeared him to fans, yet Shriner left GH in 1980 to take on the role of Jeb Hampton in the NBC soap, Texas.
By 1981, he returned to GH just in time to catch the bouquet at Luke and Laura’s wedding. Shriner also brought Scotty to the GH spinoff Port Charles, where he shared the screen with Lynn Herring (Lucy Coe) and Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins).
In recent years, Scotty has played a supporting role, but it’s evident that fans are eager for his return-will that ever come to fruition; only time will reveal the answer!
