General Hospital Spoilers: Josh Kelly Off Contract, Cody Bell Is Leaving GH?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers show that Josh Kelly (Cody Bell) has been taken off contract as indicated by the closing credits on the June 20 episode. This omission has GH fans asking if Cody Bell is leaving PC. Here’s what we know.

Is Cody Leaving?

It’s curious that we’re talking about a possible departure given the fact that Cody recently got a new storyline that has him seducing Ava Jerome (Maura West) and sabotaging her romance with Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst).

Couple that development with Cody and Molly Lansing-Davis (Kristen Vaganos) getting closer over time; That relationship will be strained due to Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) paying Cody to come on to Ava.

Kristina’s Schemes Always Fail

The suddenness and randomness with which the seduction plot was introduced makes it appear that the writers were told to find an out for Cody, aka removing Josh Kell from the daytime drama.

Josh has made no mention of this, nor has the show so at this time we are purely speculating.
But it’s almost certain that if Cody blows his chance with Molly, he might decide to cut his losses and leave town.

We thought for a while there that the show would bring some heartwarming father-son scenes with Mac Scorpio (John J. York) and Cody, but nada.

What Happens Next for Cody?

There are other ways Cody could depart the canvas, starting with Ric finding out about Cody’s sleazy mission. He would threaten Cody so fast that Cody may want to leave PC behind. Or, if Cody breaks a law during his mission he could go to jail.

It could get much, much worse than jail or banishment for Cody, however. The show has been revisiting Ava’s dark past and what she’s capable of, with Cody himself unnerved by her murderous streak.

Molly and Cody’s Romance Could Suffer

We predict that the mess with Cody and Ava ends in chaos and possible worse. It’ll be interesting to see what is in store for Cody given what we know about him being taken off contract.

It’s not an automatic departure, he could remain as a recurring character, living his best life in the stables with the horses. What do you think happens with Cody next, GH fans?
