GENERAL HOSPITAL’S DANIEL GODDARD IS ‘BLOWN AWAY

Daniel Goddard was shocked by the overwhelming fan response at his joining the show, and was even more surprised that they made a role just for him.

General Hospital's Daniel Goddard simply couldn't believe the good fortune that smiled on him as he accepted a new role on the show.

We now know most of what Josslyn’s first WSB assignment is on General Hospital. Her handler, Vaughn, explained that she needed to infiltrate an environmental physics class at PCU and become a research assistant for Professor Dalton. What the teacher is up to has yet to be revealed, but it has to be something major if the Bureau is involved. Former The Young and the Restless star Daniel Goddard has been tapped to play Dalton, and he and his fans are thrilled.

A Welcome Reception

Goddard and the official GH Instagram page shared a video in which he was walking through some familiar hallways and exited the building, revealing the large General Hospital sign on the side. It was captioned, “1,973 days later #CBS #YR #Cane —> #ABC #GH #Dalton ❤️🙏🏻.”

He received several congratulatory responses from former Y&R costars as well as GH stars Finola Hughes (Anna) and Chris McKenna (Jack), who responded, “Welcome!!” and “Heeeeyyyy buddy! Welcome!” respectively.

The actor also explained to TV Insider that he had auditioned for the role of Jack but didn’t get it. However, the show liked him so much that they created the role of Dalton for him and offered him the part. “I was just gobsmacked by it,” he enthusiastically remarked, adding, “It wasn’t a recast. It was a new character, and I was so blown away.

Class Is in Session

Goddard, who formerly played twins Cane and Caleb on Y&R, shared another video on Instagram, writing, “Happy Sunday! It’s Professor Dalton here, wanting you to know how much I love and appreciate you! And making sure that you will be attending @generalhospitalabc this Tuesday, April 15th … because I will be taking roll call!”

In the video, he wanted to let his fans know that he was very thankful to get the part and explained that the incredible amount of fan messages he received about getting the part was unbelievable. “I’m blown away, but you know what?” he said, continuing, “You guys have always been there for me from day one, and you never let me down, and I will never let you down, just to know that…you are my ride and dies, and this is a two-way street.”

He finished by reiterating that Dalton’s first appearance would be on April 15, and viewers needed to show up “Because I will be taking roll calls.” (Find out how Goddard paid tribute to late soap star Billy Miller.)
