Back in May, we sent General Hospital’s Rena Sofer (Lois) our congratulations, as the ABC soap star celebrated a very special day. On the 18th, not only was it her and husband Sanford Bookstaver’s one-year wedding anniversary but the couple also celebrated the fact that they had first married twenty-two years prior.
“Happy 1/22 wedding anniversary to the LOML [love of my life]!” Sofer cheered then went on to explain that they had been “married 22 years ago and remarried one year ago!” She talked about the “beautiful and special journey” they’ve been on and how “excited” she is for their “next step” and big move!” In closing out the post, the actress added, “I wouldn’t want anyone but you Sanford Bookstaver by my side! I love you endlessly!”
Sofer’s former co-star, The Bold and the Beautiful’s Lawrence Saint-Victor (Carter) sent his “congratulations” as Don Diamont’s (Bill) wife, Cindy Ambuehl, stated, “Happy anniversary, you kids!”
Last year, Sofer first alerted followers that she and Bookstaver had remarried and gave a glimpse into the path they’d been on by saying, “The journey we are about to begin is the most exciting adventure, in a new state and town, but most thrilling is that we get to do it together as husband and wife! The three years we spent apart were humbling and heartbreaking but vital to us finding each other again.”
As for that big move she teased… On August 4, the actress shared a video to say goodbye and explained, “We’ve been in L.A. for almost 35 years and now it’s time for me and Sanford to go. No one better than Billy Joel to create the perfect soundtrack to our dreams! Yes, I’m getting emotional. I met and had my children in L.A. met the man of my dreams and created an incredible life there. I had amazing success in the biz and made all my lifelong friends who I will miss desperately… And now on to quieter and calmer times. Now we are off in our Rivian with our five dogs in the back to our new life!”
We wish the actress and her family the best of luck and will keep fans posted on what this could mean for her Port Charles character.
