It was October 28, 2022 when General Hospital viewers got to see a new face playing Heather. And though The Bold and the Beautiful’s Alley Mills (ex-Pam) did an amazing job taking over the fan favorite character, many still miss Robin Mattson, who played the part on and off since 1980. A month after the recast, the actress broke her silence and fans learned why Mills had stepped into the role. So, what’s Mattson been up to these days?
On June 1, the former daytime star celebrated her birthday and a few weeks later, posted a photo on her official Facebook page from the festivities. “Birthday dinner surrounded by friends, love, art and a little sparkle,” Mattson shared, “Grateful for another beautiful year and this unforgettable evening at Xuntos.”
Fans quickly rushed into the comments to wish her well and many also expressed just how much they wish she would return to the ABC soap. If you need a refresher, the last time we saw Mattson as Heather in October 2016, Franco had visited his mother at the asylum to get answers in regards to the attacks on Bobbie and Lucas. That’s when Heather admitted she’d used one of her “outings” to attack them in order to give him an alibi while Franco was at the Nurses Ball. Ultimately, Franco turned his back on her and walked away.
Fast forward to October 2022, when Olivia got quite the eyeful as Heather was brought into the hospital, in cuffs and an orange jumpsuit, and left her with a chilling message, “Be seeing you around.” And it wasn’t until the following year when it was revealed that Heather had been Port Charles’ “The Hook” killer.
With Heather currently off the canvas, you never know when — or where — she’ll show her face again and whether it be Mills or Mattson in the role, the character will also be a favorite that will go down in Port Charles history.
