In the aftermath of Rocco’s near-fatal alcohol poisoning, everyone could see Dante was blaming all the wrong people for what happened to his son except Dante. Every day, he was blaming someone else. Viewers quickly called Dante out on his un-Dante-like behavior for what it was, setting up conflict between him and Gio right before the truth comes out that Dante is Gio’s father. Well, this has blown my thinking in past columns that Gio would reject Brook Lynn and accept Dante when the truth is revealed!
By Friday’s episode, Dante had begun to realize the errors of his ways, but is the damage already done between him and Gio? On many levels, Gio is still a kid, and Dante’s anger and blame will stay with him. We better get to see a damn good apology from Dante to Gio next week!
Bravo to Rocco for calling his dad out on his antics, noting that nobody forced him to drink all that alcohol, and that he did it on his own. Dante calling out Jason for being a lousy parent was the only part of his blame tour I agreed with, as Jason has always put Sonny, Carly and their kids first. However, Dante seemed to give Jason some food for thought, and Jason noted he had to change things with Danny moving forward. Jason’s realization that Danny couldn’t have gotten away with this had he not been off with Sonny could be his equivalent of Sonny’s Mike moment last week.
Even though we know Nina and Portia set Drew up, his character has become so unlikeable that it’s difficult to feel the slightest bit sorry for him. Now that Drew he that Portia drugged him, thanks to Brad, it’s clear he’s only going to double down on being Port Charles’ biggest slimeball. By the end of the week, it was obvious what he had asked Brad for was a vial of ketamine, and he told Brad there would be much destruction to come. What are Drew’s plans for that vial? I have some thoughts on that, which we will get to.
When Willow felt the vial in his jacket when she hugged Drew, and he told Willow it was a vitamin infusion from his doctor, all I could think was, “Oh, come on!” Actually, I can’t publish what really went through my head at that moment. Willow is a nurse, so is she going to buy that load of bull? With everyone in town basically having told her the only reason she believes Drew is innocent and was drugged is because it means she’d have to face the horrible decisions she’s made for this man, and now finding that vial, will she smarten up?
Boy, was I shocked that Brad left the building the way he did. But… but… What does this mean for Aunt Selina? Will she just fade away again? Hopefully Brad will return in the future to cause more trouble in Port Charles.
Sasha telling Jason the details of Willow’s trip to see Michael will hopefully lead to exposing Drew’s thwarting that visit. And speaking of Sasha, as much as I love seeing people give Willow hell, she is not the one who should be doing so, given whose baby she’s carrying.
Thanks to Lois’ defense of Gio, Lulu is getting closer to finding out he is Brook Lynn and Dante’s son. She sure isn’t letting this go, though it looks like Tracy might put her in her place next week.
As much as I enjoy Tracy and her epic takedowns, I was not a fan of how quickly she turned on Lois and demonized her for being the one to push Brook Lynn to give up her baby. Lois got some good shots back at Tracy, though, pointing out that she dumped Ned and Dillon on her family. I can’t wait to see the look on Tracy’s face when she realizes Gio links the Qs to Sonny through blood!
I had hypothesized that Emma could also be in the WSB, and I was close. She revealed to Joss that Dalton’s lab was the reason she got expelled from Berkeley, and she is at PCU to expose whatever horrid things he’s up to. Still, even this revelation isn’t enough to get me invested in this spy storyline… yet.
Sidwell’s offer to buy Sonny’s piers not only solves Sonny’s dilemma of how to get out of the business but also seems to fix the issue that his relationship with Laura is causing her. Then there was Jason, who, upon realizing he does need to be more of a parent to Danny, said things needed to change. This could be that change!
We know Blaze is coming back shortly, and that she’s currently on tour with Miguel. Lulu also brought up Ricky Martin’s old character a lot in Friday’s episode. Could we possibly be “Livin’ La Vida Loca” at the Nurses Ball this year?
So, who is Drew planning to dose with the ketamine? My guess is Sonny or Jason, but let’s have this backfire on Drew spectacularly. Someone should get the wrong drink at the ball and make a fool of themselves, preferably Willow!
Finally, I’ve said it before, but the Nurses Ball has to be when Michael reappears in town, and by the end of the night, Drew needs to be shot!
That’s all the thoughts, opinions and predictions I’ve got this week. Leave yours in the comments below!
