What happened on General Hospital

So, hold up. General Hospital decided to do the big Gio reveal on the Nurses' Ball stage, and Tracy is sitting in Jason's second home, aka the PCPD interrogation room. We need an explanation for this decision. While it was fun to watch Chase cuff Tracy on the red carpet, we immediately remembered she was the lead singer in one of the numbers. Last week, we were so excited to learn Tracy would be performing and couldn't wait to see what she did. Not only did her arrest mean we didn't get to see Tracy in a cowgirl getup singing "My Boots Were Made for Walking," but we also didn't get to see her real-time reaction when Gio had his very public meltdown, announced he was Brook Lynn and Dante's son, and then smashed his violin to bits before running from the ballroom. It was an absolutely epic moment that would have been made more epic if Tracy had been there to react to it. After those beautiful scenes with Brook Lynn, when she learned her granddaughter had a baby as a teenager, and after she asked Jason to use his years of criminal training to find her great-grandson, Tracy missed the reveal because of an inexplicable writing choice. We even watched Tracy and Gio forge a sweet and loving relationship over the last few months, but were deprived of Jane Elliot's masterful facial expressions during Gio's meltdown. Again, just a really, really bad choice that took something away from an otherwise stunning soap moment.
