Gina Kirschenheiter's son Nicholas is trying out a new hair look — and The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member has some thoughts.
"[Moms of Instagram] how do we feel about this?" Gina captioned a September 24 Instagram post where she appeared to be sitting in a car. Gina shared that her "[preteen]" son was crafting an interesting hairstyle these days, and she wondered if any other moms were "experiencing this phenomenon" with their children.
"I can't stop thinking about this," Gina began in the video. "He comes down for school, and he spent a lot of time upstairs doing his hair because he's obsessed with his hair lately. [But] when he comes down, I was like, 'Nicholas, you look like you didn't brush your hair?' And he's like, 'Yeah Mom, I don't brush my hair.'"
Gina continued by revealing why she was even more surprised by her son's interesting aesthetic. "I'm like, 'Well then, what were you doing up there for 20 minutes to your hair?' and he's like, 'Yeah, I was doing my hair,'" she continued. "I was like, 'OK, so this is then how you want it to look?' and...in his mind, he nailed it."
Gina then noted that she eventually just gave up trying to understand the thought process behind her son's look. "Go with God, my child," she joked. "I mean, I got nothing left to say at this point!"

Gina has also tried a few different colors and styles over the years, ranging from long, sandy-colored tresses to a darker brunette look to her current bright blonde bob.
In a March 2019 photo, for example, Gina revealed she used to have long, dark brunette hair. "[Throwback Thursday] to my college graduation and dark hair!" Gina captioned the Instagram snap in which she rocked a cap and gown at her graduation from Hofstra University (to see where the rest of the RHOC cast attended college, click here).
Since then, Gina has tried different looks, and has faced some strong opinions in the process.
In an exclusive interview with The Daily Dish in 2022, Gina reflected on her hair evolution over the years and dished about the beauty challenges she faced along the way. “My hair being such a disaster the last few years was very indicative of where I was in my life,” the West Coast mom, who has dealt with personal struggles on RHOC, like her 2019 divorce, shared during the interview.
There's been a shift since then, as Gina noted she even received a "crazy amount" of fan requests to post a tutorial of her pearl-embellished Season 16 interview look. "I feel great about it," Gina told The Daily Dish. "I see everything that people write."
