Gerry Turner is back to being a Bachelor.
Turner, 72, and his ex-wife Theresa Nist have reached a settlement in their divorce on June 13, two months after announcing their split, according to a case summary viewed by PEOPLE.
The pair — who met on the first season of The Golden Bachelor — "lived together as husband and wife until April 12, 2024, at which time certain irreconcilable differences heretofore arisen between the parties culminated in their separation,” according to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight.
Turner’s attorney did not immediately return PEOPLE’s request for comment and it was not clear who is currently representing Nist.
The settlement — which TMZ was first to report — comes after the couple announced their decision to split following just three months of marriage during a sit-down interview with Good Morning America on April 12. They shared that distance proved to be a problem — Turner lives in Indiana while Nist, 70, resides in New Jersey — as they are both so dedicated to their families.
"Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we've looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we've kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it's probably time for us to dissolve our marriage," Turner said.
Nist said they “looked at home after home, but we never got to the point where we made that decision,” and eventually, the distance proved to be too much.
“The thing that strikes me the most in our conversations, it's been how dedicated both of us are to our families,” Turner said. “So we look at these conversation and we both think it's best for the happiness of each of us to live apart."
Later that same day, Turner officially filed for divorce in Indiana, according to public records viewed by PEOPLE.
Nist broke her silence on the split on April 15, calling the Golden Bachelor and her relationship with Turner “one of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I truly thought it was going to last forever. It turns out, even at the age of 70, you don’t know everything.”
“Sometimes things don’t go the way you planned and that’s okay," she shared on Instagram. "I take so many positives away from this experience, most importantly and above all the incredible friends I now have in all of these amazing, wonderful women and in Angie and Jenny, Payton and Charlee, the producers, the production crew and so many of you.”
