More details on this story, below.
Guy Gansert Hospital Experience
As fans of the ABC reality show know, Gansert has close to four decades of experience as an ER doctor in real life, so he’ll fit in nicely with the daytime drama.
Gansert told PEOPLE.com that he used to watch the soap opera in college, and went on to say, “Even though I was ecstatic over being a cast member on The Golden Bachelorette, this was an exciting opportunity to actually act and be a part of an iconic show.”
He also noted, ““This is all happening after deciding to hang up my stethoscope and retire after 35 years.”

More Details On Guy Gansert’s Role
One would think that Gansert would play a doctor, nurse, or even eligible bachelor; however, he’s scheduled to step into the role of ‘Geoffrey’, a wildlife journalist.
General Hospital viewers should expect to see him in scenes with Nina Reeves, played by Cynthia Watros.
Sounds like Crimson might be doing a profile on ‘Geoffrey’, but as Nina is single, will there also be a love connection between the two? Could this be the beginning of a storyline and extended run for Gansert on the soap? Only time will tell!
Gansert participated in the first season of ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette. He was the runner up when it came to winning Joan Vassos’ heart.
The retired doctor’s bio on the network’s website lists him as a confident, charismatic, and romantic man. It also notes that he loves spending time with his four children and grandchild.
