Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Ben Hutton will make his season debut tonight replacing Nicolas Hague.
Hague was projected to play tonight but he's been dealing with a lower-body injury and is now once again considered day-to-day. Kaedan Korzcak had replaced him in the lineup for three games but HC Bruce Cassidy has elected to give the experienced Hutton his first game of the season.
Hutton played in 41 games last year scoring twice and registering 10 points. During his Vegas tenure, Hutton has been praised for his ability to step into the lineup and fill in a vacant role without any problems.
Tonight will be a difficult test for the 31-year-old as the Golden Knights will be battling Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and the Oilers. McDavid is making his return to the Oilers lineup after he missed three games with an ankle injury. The initial reported was that McDavid would be out for 2-3 weeks but he returned just nine days after the injury occurred.
The Golden Knights seek their first road victory of the season with Hutton making his long-awaited season debut.
