The Golden Knights are looking for a shift after being eliminated early in the post-season, and according to reports, that could mean Nic Hague is on the way out.
Ever since they arrived in the NHL, the Vegas Golden Knights have been known as a team that is happy to take big risks, and when a season doesn't go the way they hoped, they've never been afraid to make big changes.
In 2025, they were dominated by the Edmonton Oilers, making it two straight years without an appearance in the Western Conference Finals, something that definitely won't make the organization happy.
We've already seen the links to Mitch Marner, with the team potentially moving out Mark Stone to make way for the veteran star, and reportedly, they're also already taking calls on veteran blue liner Nic Hague, according to top Insider David Pagnotta.
Speaking of Vegas, the Golden Knights have just over $9.6 million in salary cap space and a few decent holes to fill. Word on the street is they are entertaining calls on defenceman Nic Hague, who is set to become a restricted free agent July 1 and is due for a solid paycheck.
Multiple sources indicated this week that Vegas has already started to engage in trade discussions involving Hague, who brings size, accountability and a championship pedigree to any club looking to strengthen their defensive corps. Several teams will be poking around, and this should be something to keep an eye on leading up to Draft weekend.

It's unclear what the interest level around the league is in Hague, and while he's not a huge point producer, Hague is a Stanley Cup winner at the age of 26 and will likely be fairly cheap to acquire, so don't be surprised to see him on the move before the 2025 NHL Draft.
