“His game’s really come around. We’ve seen it in the last, I don’t know, seven, eight, 10, whatever it is, games,” Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said after the Oilers game. “When he’s on, you need that guy to be the backbone of your team. We hope we don’t need him to stand on his head every night.”

Hill shares sixth place in the NHL with 12 wins and owns a 2.63 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. He also has two shutouts this season.

Hill has been exceptional in net since being pulled after allowing four goals on 21 shots against the Carolina Hurricanes on Nov. 12. He’s 6-1-1 in his last eight starts with a 1.73 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage.

He was also named to Team Canada for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off in February.
