The Vegas Golden Knights play a back-to-back Sunday matinee against Detroit to end their road trip, which has not been quite great to say the least. In the game against Buffalo this morning or afternoon, depending on where you were watching in the US, Vegas went up 2-0 before giving up a goal just seven seconds after the faceoff to make it 2-1, before Buffalo made it 2-2 and then Vegas getting the lead, making it 3-2, before giving up a tying goal only just 14 seconds left to make it 3-3 in the 3rd period to lose in a shootout eventually.
Head Coach Bruce Cassidy called out a few players postgame regarding the self-inflicting penalties that led to giving the game away, "The penalties we took, not under pressure. A delay of game, an offensive zone penalty again, three games in a row by the same player… Those are some things you’ve got to get out of your [game]. They’re going to happen periodically, but they’re going to cost you— and they have. They have on this trip.”
Perhaps the very early start is a factor, but regardless, in any game, those types of mistakes can cost you a lead, and it cost Vegas a chance to win back-to-back games on this trip.
Bruce Cassidy also mentioned the players' unprofessionalism and wasn't very thrilled with the team's approach to the game against the Sabres: "I just think a total lack of respect, probably most of the night. But the way it kind of ended probably sums that up."
Coming Up
Luckily, for Vegas, as they take on Detroit, the Red Wings are in poor form as they have lost seven of their last eight games and are 6th in the Atlantic Divisional Standings.

Vegas has only won 3 of 10 in games where it goes to overtime or a shootout.
