The Vegas Golden Knights have reached decisions on some of their restricted free agents.
On Sunday, the team announced that they have re-signed forwards Raphael Lavoie, Jonas Rondbjerg and Cole Schwindt to one-year contracts for the 2025-26 season. The financial terms of the deals are currently undisclosed.
All three forwards saw NHL action with the Golden Knights last season, with Schwindt leading the way with a career-high 42 games with Vegas.
Lavoie was part of one of the more entertaining aspects of last offseason for the Golden Knights, as he was caught in a waiver wire battle between them and the Edmonton Oilers. He ended up in Vegas’ system, playing nine games with the Golden Knights. He was more impactful with the AHL Henderson Silver Knights, leading them with 17 goals last season.
Rondbjerg, a third-round draft pick of the Golden Knights in 2017, has spent his entire professional career with the Golden Knights. He has split his time between Vegas and Henderson, appearing in 76 games with the Golden Knights across the past four seasons. Rondbjerg has already been selected to represent his native Denmark at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Games.
Between all three, Schwindt is the most likely to be with the Golden Knights to start the season, even if as a 13th forward. Claimed off of waivers by Vegas, Schwindt recorded eight points this season with the Golden Knights, including scoring his first career NHL goal in the team’s final regular season game against the Vancouver Canucks on April 16. He also made his postseason debut this past season, playing in Game Five against the Edmonton Oilers.
With these three players signed, the Golden Knights only have forward Alexander Holtz and defenseman Lukas Cormier left to sign as restricted free agents. The two have already been qualified by the team, giving Vegas exclusive negotiation rights.
