"🌟 'Habs' Resurgence: Old Faces Return—Can Montreal Pull Off a Miracle?"

Last month, former Habs flocked in drones to town to celebrate the wedding of Montreal Canadiens’ captain Nick Suzuki. Carey Price, Jeff Petry, Jake Allen, and Tyler Toffoli, among others, were all in town for the occasion. According to their social media accounts, they had all left shortly afterwards. Still, yesterday, Cat Toffoli posted an Instagram post featuring her husband, Jake Evans, and Tanner Pearson at the Cirque du Soleil in Montreal.

The Toffolis were in Florida last week, and it’s doubtful that they would make the trip solely to attend one show. Perhaps another wedding will be celebrated this upcoming weekend as goaltender Samuel Montembeault and fiancée Daryanne Ayotte were also set to tie the knot this offseason.

So far, we’ve seen the goaltender pick up his suit for the big day, thanks to an Instagram post from Suitablee, but there haven’t been any pictures of a wedding party. Given that the goaltender is set to participate in the Team Canada orientation camp from August 26 to 28, it would be logical to schedule the wedding for an earlier date.

The 28-year-old had a career year last season, posting a 31-24-7 record with a 2.80 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. It was the first time his GAA was under 3.00, and he nearly doubled his number of wins, which had stood at 16 for the last two seasons.

If Nick Suzuki carried the team on his back to take them to the playoffs, he wouldn’t have been able to pull it off had it not been for Montembeault’s solid play in net at the tail end of the season. It will be interesting to see who backs up the veteran this season. Jakub Dobes has certainly staked a claim on the backup role, but the Habs did sign Kaapo Kahkonen as a free agent. While their plan might be for him to back up Jacob Fowler in the AHL, the veteran netminder is hoping to stay with the NHL team.
