“He Has An 24/7 Open-Door Policy”: George Kittle Gets Real On Relationship With 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan

George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers tight end, has lately spilled plenty of tea about his close friendship with Kyle Shanahan, head coach. In his latest appearance on the ‘Pat McAfee Show’, Kittle was asked plenty about the backstage ongoings in the 49ers team, including the dynamics between the different players.

Kittle had nothing but great things to say about the friendship he shares with Shanahan, even revealing that they both golf frequently together during the NFL offseason. George Kittle also complimented Shanahan for being so open and accessible by everyone in the team.

AJ Hawk: “George, what’s your relationship like with head coach Kyle Shanahan?”

Kittle: “One of my favorite things about Coach Shanahan is that he has a 24/7 open-door policy, like, if somebody has a question for him. Someone wants to know where they stand with the team. Someone has an idea his office is always open…Me and Kyle have a great relationship. You know, I like to golf with him down in Cabo in the off-season, and then I like to win football games with him in the fall. So there’s just, he holds us all accountable. He definitely puts a lot of pressure on all of the guys on the team that have to help us win games.” George Kittle spoke about his relationship with Kyle Shanahan in the latest episode of ‘The Pat McAfee Show’.

George Kittle seems to be doing pretty great with the team, even more so after he signed the whopping deal with the 49ers a few weeks back. The 49ers have been pretty lavish with their players this offseason, doling out an impressive contract extension for their starting quarterback, Brock Purdy, as well.

George Kittle Mocks Travis Kelce’s Height

In the same podcast episode, George Kittle also took a chance to mock Kansas City Chiefs tight end for his height, especially in comparison to his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. While Swift herself is considered pretty tall, she looked dwarfed next to Kelce at their latest appearance at the Stanley Cup Finals.

Podcast host, Pat McAfee, joked that Travis Kelce seemed to have grown even taller during the NFL offseason and said that the Kansas City tight end might actually be “ten feet tall”, to which Kittle could not help agreeing jestingly. After staying away from the spotlight for the last couple of months, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce recently delighted fans by attending the Stanley Cup Finals.
