Heather and Terry Dubrow Share a Bleak House Update: "$8 Million Over the Budget"

RHOC's Heather Dubrow and Terry Dubrow reveal what really happened with their Beverly Hills mansion.

Heather Dubrow Gives More Background on Her Move to L.A.

The Real Housewives of Orange County's Heather Dubrow "had a really good plan" for the lavish Beverly Hills house she and husband Dr. Terry Dubrow purchased for $16 million in 2023. Unfortunately, though, her real estate dreams quickly turned into a nightmare.

In fact, when viewers caught up with the couple in the supersized RHOC Season 19 premiere, Terry went so far as to remark, "This place looks like s--t."

As images of the torn-apart 9,000-square-foot mansion appeared on the screen, the plastic surgeon revealed that someone had discovered toxic asbestos in the home, before adding, "My stepfather died from asbestosis of the lung, by the way."

Heather's response? "I feel like I failed."

In a confessional, the 'Wife further explained that they "ended up with a contractor that came in $8 million over the budget" they'd previously agreed upon. (A flashback reminded viewers that the original remodel estimate was about $10 million.) What's more, the contractor didn't disclose the almost doubled price tag "until he had ripped up the house," according to Heather.

"Now, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it anymore," she conceded.

After she pointed out that the rebuild would take three years, at which point their 14-year-old son Ace would be a high school senior, Terry chimed in, "I say we sell it. Let's just move on."

Before listing the property, Heather insisted, "We have to finish the floors because, to me, it looks like a war zone." When her husband questioned the $45,000 renovation expense, reasoning that a potential new owner would likely "tear it up" right away, she responded, "That is so little money."

As he joked back, "That’s a party you throw at Nobu, isn’t it?"

The Dubrows enlist Josh Flagg and Josh Altman to sell their Beverly Hills home

As the RHOC Season 19 trailer already teased, Heather and Terry hired Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles duo Josh Altman and Josh Flagg to sell the property.

"Only you could make this happen," Altman quipped of Heather helping create their partnership, before joking that he'd give Flagg "a higher commission" if he climbed down the backyard cliff, which provided stunning Los Angeles views.

The Dubrows' home ultimately hit the market in March 2025 with an asking price of $25 million.

"I don't know anywhere else you can get eight prime acres, sitting on top of Beverly Hills, completely unobstructed, anywhere near this price point," Altman boasted to TMZ of the listing, at the time.

Where do Heather and Terry Dubrow live now?

ICYMI: After selling their Newport Beach estate for a record-breaking $55 million in 2022, Heather and Terry purchased a penthouse apartment in Los Angeles. The reason, they explained, was partially because their three other children, 21-year-old twins Max and Nicholas, and Kat, 18, have already moved out. (Ace is currently their only kid still living at home, full-time.)

In June 2025, Heather unveiled new renovations she'd made to their L.A. home, including the addition of leopard-print carpet in a walk-in closet.

However, the penthouse is not their full-time home. As Heather explained in 2023, the family also still has a home in Orange County.
