Heather Dubrow Has "Rented Another Place" Amid Beverly Hills House Renovation (EXCLUSIVE)

The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member discusses the details behind her "full steam ahead" home renovation.

After selling her iconic “Dubrow Chateau” for $55 million in 2022, Heather Dubrow and her husband, Dr. Terry Dubrow, temporarily moved into a four-bedroom rental house, purchased a Los Angeles penthouse, and then bought a Beverly Hills "dream house" in 2023. Since then, The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member has shared a few details about said “dream house,” revealing images of the new mansion on Season 18 of RHOC (more on that in a bit).

More recently, Heather visited Bravo HQ on Sept. 19 and spoke more candidly about her and Terry’s home purchase and explained more about their current renovation process.

While the family lived in the home for a year with staged furniture, they recently moved out to get the full renovation started. "We just did the asbestos abatement, because the house has been there since 1948," Heather revealed during our exclusive chat. "Lots of permits, but we should be demo-ing in November and full steam ahead in January."

Heather continued to explain the thought process behind starting the in-depth renovation at the start of 2025. "I don't really wanna get going then everyone leaves for the holidays and it's just sitting there," she explained. "So, it looks like January."

As for the design aesthetic for the home, Heather also shared that she's "all about the high-low," noting that her old home's bathroom had both a "$7,000 sink" and artwork from Target.

Where do Heather and Terry Dubrow live now?

Elsehwere in our conversation, Heather also noted that, while their new home is undergoing renovation, she and Terry "rented another place" in the building in Los Angeles where they purchased their luxurious penthouse with four bedrooms.

"I would love to tell you that [Terry and I] live upstairs and the kids live downstairs but...that's not true either," she laughed, further explaining that she and Terry plus their three children Max, Kat, and Ace, all live in the four bedroom rental downstairs.

"Upstairs I retain my bedroom" Heather shared, also adding that her eldest, Nick, lives in the guest room. "He really lives in LA. He has a house [because] goes to school in LA," she explained, nothing that this semester in school Nick is abroad in Italy.

Heather explains why she and Terry Dubrow bought a home in Beverly Hills

In an interview during the RHOC Season 18 premiere, Heather shared more details about her new home, explaining the thought process behind why she and Terry decided to make the purchase.

"I'm always looking for a new project," she said on the episode, which aired on July 11. "After we sold our Crystal Cove house, we bought this house in Beverly Hills. They really wanted in the low 40s and we got it for $16 million."

Though the couple bought their beautiful (and spacious) Los Angeles penthouse shortly before buying the Beverly Hills home, Heather explained, "That's only two bedrooms. We need a family home. Enter Beverly Hills."
