He may not be playing with the New York Rangers anymore, but everyone should still listen when Henrik Lundqvist has an opinion about the Blueshirts.

The Rangers recently hired Mike Sullivan to be the team’s next head coach and it’s safe to say that The King is a fan of the hire.

When discussing Sullivan, Lundqvist had only positive things to say about the Rangers’ 38th head coach.

Sullivan was an assistant coach under John Tortorella during some of Lundqvist’s time with the Rangers.

“There was such a great tandem with Torts and Sully. As a person, I really enjoyed having him around, so I think it’s a really great hire,” Lundqvist said, via The New York Post. “I look forward to see what he can do with this current Rangers team…

“I think anytime you have a new coach come in, they want to establish their style, their mentality a little bit. As a coach you want to establish some things. I think he has all the qualities. You see what he has done in Pittsburgh for so many years. Players respect him, I look forward to seeing what he can do.”

Lundqvist is a studio analyst for MSG Networks so you’ll still be able to hear some of his Rangers takes throughout the season.
