With voluntary offseason programs underway for the Indianapolis Colts, head coach Shane Steichen met with the media on Tuesday.

In case you missed it, here are the highlights from the interview.

- "There's a lot of good players in this draft," Steichen said. The Colts are in the process of finalizing everything with the draft almost here.

- "You gotta have a vision for the player you're going to draft. You gotta know how you're going to use him," Steichen said on being aligned with Chris Ballard during the draft process. Adding that in their evaluation, he has to articulate how that player would be utilized in the Colts' offensive or defensive schemes.

- "There's not," said Steichen when asked if he had a timeline for when he would like to name a starting quarterback. "It's really going to come down to who is the most consistent."

- Steichen mentions that, beyond the overall consistency he wants to see, the day-to-day process that each quarterback goes through, taking care of the football, making good decisions, and being able to move the offense down the field are other aspects that will be evaluated.

- Steichen says he met with Richardson for about half an hour and had a "really good conversation." Steichen added: "He's excited to go compete."

- A big point of emphasis for the Colts going into 2025 will be playing complementary football, something Steichen said they did not do well last year.

- "Obviously, we're looking to add a pass-catching tight end, possibly," said Steichen as he went through the offense. He likes a lot of the players they already have, and mentioned the need for more competition on the offensive line. "We've got a nucleus of core players that are really good."

- Consistency and being able to move the ball down the field will be prioritized over splash plays at quarterback. "It'll be fun to see how it all plays out."

- "It shows the toughness and grittiness that you want on your team," Steichen said of Michael Pittman playing through a back injury last season.

- "That's something we're working through right now," Steichen said of evaluating where Matt Goncalves will line up.
