The Houston Texans embarked on a remarkable journey in 2023, transforming from a struggling three-win team in 2022 to a triumphant 10-win team that clinched a playoff victory. This season was a testament to their resilience and determination, culminating in the discovery of a franchise quarterback they had long been seeking.
C.J. Stroud was a rookie last year, yet he also had an amazing, elite 2023 season. He had one of the best seasons a rookie quarterback has ever had, which saw him win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
Not only that, but with how good Stroud already is, the Texans have the opportunity to stack up on offensive weapons while he is still on his rookie contract. This is a unique situation for the Texans, and it has allowed them to have a Super Bowl window opened up.
But, with how Stroud played last year, he was also able to add another award to his already impressive stash. According to the Pro Football Writers of America, Stroud has been nominated for their Good Guy Award.
The Good Guy Award is given to any NFL player for his qualities and professional style in helping PFWA do their jobs. They have done the award annually since 2005.
Stroud was awarded several awards from PFWA this offseason for his performance on the field, and now he has one for his off-field duties. John Metchie III also recently received an award from PFWA.
