How Alexis Bellino Is Becoming the RHOC Villain, and How She Could Turn Things Around

I don’t think anyone could ever unequivocally state that Alexis Bellino was the good or bad guy on the Real Housewives of Orange County. In her early days, she happily married Jim Bellino, who basically asked her to stay home and obey him. The last I saw Alexis in Season 6, she was given a very bad edit. Every mistake was put under the microscope for fans to laugh at. While that didn’t seem fair or kind, Alexis has always been the perfect villain. The mother of three was perfect for the role because she was clever enough to be a formidable adversary to most of the women.

Alexis was one of those reality TV villains who were great in the post-edit. The mother of three had some pretty classic confessionals, which left fans thinking, “Being branded the villain is kind of cool.” In her early seasons, Alexis wasn’t exactly self-aware, and this caused some of her co-stars not to like her. I comfortably sat on the fence when I heard that Alexis was being asked back for Season 18. Deep down, I know she will bring the drama thanks to her beef with Shannon Beador.

The thing that is turning Alexis into the RHOC villain the most is her passion to call out Shannon. The brunette has already bragged that John Janssen smiles more and gets more sex than he ever had with Shannon.

During the latest episode, things turned to the dark side after Alexis openly told the girls about how John had multiple videos from the night Shannon was arrested for her DUI. Lex insinuated that these videos would ruin Shannon’s life. This is why you don’t get drunk and get behind the wheel, my friends.

Alexis has a knack for stirring the pot, but there are moments when she gets to shine through. The newest episode showed her praying around Tamra Judge, who became distraught about her lack of relationship with her daughter. Even if production sometimes gives her a shady edit, Alexis’ kind heart still shines through. As most of us have learned by watching Dinsey princess movies, the villain usually has an origin story. They just didn’t wake up one day and become mean or angry. The fun part with Alexis is she says how she feels and wears her heart on her sleeve.

When she spouted the now infamous line “There’s the door, Shannon Beador,” I just about spat my pop out. Fans like seeing Alexis’ silly side. The new episode showed her enjoying Big Bear as she just embraced the childhood fun of sledding. The Real Housewives star is likable if she just gives herself a bit of grace. In moments like this fans can see the true Alexis shine through with her heart of gold.

During her Big Bear trip with Tamra, Katie Ginella, and Jen Pedranti, fans saw the easygoing Alexis. And I learned she is quite the chatterbox. Jen asked a simple question about whether she was a coffee or Dr. Pepper girl, but somehow, Alexis started babbling about perimenopause. Even Tammy Sue couldn’t help but poke innocent fun at her new friend. Producers popped up with a flashback scene during the road trip that showed a montage of the different conversations Alexis took part in. Honestly, she is a girl after my own heart. The mother of three is totally capable of shedding her villain title and embracing ‘fan favorite.’

If the former TV anchor could harness her power for good, I think fans would receive her better. Alexis has a fun and quirky side to her. Real Housewives of Orange County fans have seen her loosen up and just have fun. We need the old Alexis back. Tamra has pointed out that it often feels like the group is getting to know John more than Alexis, but we all know these women like to talk about their loves. I am finding myself rooting for Alexis, and I can’t wait to see how she navigates the rest of the season.
