Dead City is one of the many The Walking Dead spinoff shows to be announced after the finale of the flagship series. It served as the first sequel series to The Walking Dead, continuing to follow the fan-favorite characters on new quests. While the first season earned a somewhat mixed response, there is a lot of excitement for the new episodes, and the show is taking a somewhat new direction regarding just how many episodes of The Walking Dead: Dead City fans will be getting.
The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Has 8 Episodes
The New Season Is Longer Than Any From The Sequel Series So Far
The Walking Dead: Dead City season 2 features eight episodes, more than the previous season, with the slightly higher count suggesting there might be a bigger story to tell this time around. To add to that feeling, the episode count for Dead City is also now the highest out of any The Walking Dead sequel series thus far. While the final season of The Walking Dead was split into three eight-episode parts, totaling a massive 24 episodes, the subsequent shows have told smaller stories.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, following Norman Reedus' beloved character on an adventure in zombie-infested France, has so far consisted of two seasons of six episodes per season. Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira reprised their roles as Rick Grimes and Michonne in the miniseries The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, telling its complete story in six episodes.
