How ‘The Bachelor’ Star Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar Only Spent $1,240 on Their Wedding

The Bachelor’s Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar didn’t want to break the bank for their wedding — and they succeeded.

On Sunday, July 20, Biggar, 30, took to social media to break down how much she and Shallcross, 28, spent on their May nuptials.

“Chapel $500, Dress & Suit $0, Florals (Costco) $250, Car $250, Hair&makeup $240, Partnered with simplyeloped and they provided officiant & bouquet + boutonniére,” Biggar explained on her Instagram Story. The total cost added up to around $1,240.

Biggar and Shallcross were initially planning a huge ceremony with a wedding planner, but the couple ultimately decided to back out of that plan to save more money for a house

“We pondered on it for a week and we’re like, ‘[It] does not feel good to just go so into this venue when we’ve already established what our priorities are,’ which is buying a house and not [spending the equivalent of] a down payment for one day,” Shallcross said on a January episode of the “Almost Famous” podcast. “So we backed out of the contract. Not saying we’re done with wedding planning. We’ve actually gone further in other areas, but we just couldn’t do that. I don’t know, like, it’s so crazy nowadays.”

Us Weekly confirmed that Biggar and Shallcross, who got engaged on season 27 of The Bachelor in 2023, tied the knot in May in Travis County, Texas.Nearly one month later, Biggar shared the video of their big day, which was an intimate ceremony with loved ones.

“There’s no denying that Zach and I met in a pretty unconventional way — we had just two months to decide if we wanted to spend forever together … while he was dating 29 other women. What a way to kick things off 😂,” she wrote via Instagram in June. “But somehow, through the whirlwind, we found something real. And we’re genuinely so grateful for every step that brought us to one another.”

Biggar gushed that life with Shallcross is “brighter and sweeter in so many ways.”

“We love each other with nothing but respect, kindness, and loyalty and will always withhold that through life’s uncertainties,” she added. “Finding one another has been our biggest and favorite adventure and we cannot wait to see what’s in store for us!” 👰‍♀️💍🤵.”

While the couple are still adjusting to life as newlyweds, they have also expressed their desires to hopefully expand their family soon.

“I’m thinking during our honeymoon,” Biggar shared on a June episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast with Shallcross, noting that it would be “great” if she got pregnant and he’s “down.”
