Hurricanes CMO Mike Forman to Step Away from Organization - Carolina Hurricanes News, Analysis and More

Think of any of the Carolina Hurricanes' many viral moments over the past few years and almost assuredly, Mike Forman had a hand in them.

'Bunch of Jerks,' the post offer sheet social media fiasco, CRY and so many more.

Beyond even the branding, Forman has also played a vital role in many of the team's most successful business ventures such as the outdoor game in 2023 and according to News & Observer reporter Luke DeCock, the Hurricanes Hall of Fame as well.

However, Forman, who was the Canes' Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) for the past two, nearly three, years, announced today that he would be leaving the organization for another opportunity in the area.

"It’s crazy how quickly 10.5 years can fly by," Forman wrote on Twitter/X. "I came back to NC after a year away to join the Hurricanes in late 2013. Since then, we’ve had so many wins on and off the ice and just taken off from a business perspective in recent years. It was a really difficult decision to make but the opportunity to join an incredible global sports and entertainment company while still being based here in Raleigh (more on that to come) was too good to pass up and it felt like the right time. Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way within the Hurricanes organization and externally. We have an incredibly talented and hard-working staff here who will continue to grow this brand and I can’t wait to be in the stands as a fan with all of you on Opening Night."

A local product being both a Wake Forest and Duke graduate, Forman has been with the Hurricanes since 2013 first being hired as the Director of Marketing.

He then worked his way up the ladder to where he is today, one of the most prominent members of the organization's business staff.

I wish him nothing but the best.
