The Carolina Hurricanes have signed 25-year-old forward Josiah Slavin, brother of Jaccob Slavin, to a two-year, two-way deal.
The contract will pay Slavin $775,000 at the NHL level and $150,000 at the AHL level with a $450,000 guarantee.
“Josiah is a smart, two-way forward with good size,” said Carolina general manager Eric Tulsky. “He competes hard, brings high character and has some NHL experience. We’re thrilled to add him to our organization.”
Slavin, 25, played last season with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL, posting 10 goals and 24 points in 70 games.
Over his career, the 6-foot-3 forward has appeared in 15 total NHL games and 201 AHL games.
He was a seventh round pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in 2018.
