When speaking with ScreenRant, Oliver Stark, who plays Buck, teases something "big" and "spectacular" on the horizon. The actor is looking forward to season 8, episode 15 airing, although he shares it was 14 in terms of production. Stark discusses his enthusiasm for the upcoming installment, commending the cast and crew's great work. Check out his full response below:
Oliver Stark: 15 is a really excellent episode of the show. We shot it as 14, but it will air as 15. I think it's one of those episodes where you go, "Wow, that's really great work." They really put [in] a lot, and I don't mean for myself, but from the whole cast, and also production-wise.
I just think it's really big and spectacular and one of these episodes, and we've had a number of them over the years, where I go, "[I] can't believe that's for network television. I can't believe that's for procedural network television." There's really a lot that goes into it. So I'm really excited for the audience to get to enjoy all the work that went into it.
Everything We Know About 9-1-1's Upcoming Episodes
"9-1-1: Contagion" Is A Two-Part Thriller
ABC has released the official synopsis for 9-1-1 season 8, episode 14, which will be the first of a two-part story. The description for "Sick Day" reads: "In part one of a two-part episode, the 118 is called to a research lab that has been set on fire and becomes a biohazard." The trailer opens with the 118 responding to the call.
Buck yells that the team is trapped in the lab, while he and Athena are seen outside the building. If they open the door, they risk releasing a dangerous virus to the public. It's also worth noting that Ryan Guzman's Eddie was last seen in Texas with his son, and Ravi (Anirudh Pisharody) has taken his place. Since Eddie is not currently working for the LAFD, the character's role in the upcoming plot remains unknown.
Season 8, episode 15 is titled "Lab Rats" and will air on Thursday, April 17. It will likely pick up directly after "Sick Day" to continue the "9-1-1: Contagion" storyline. Fans will have to hope that the two-parter doesn't end on a cliffhanger, as there is reportedly no new episode scheduled for April 24.
9-1-1 season 8 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and is available to stream next-day on Hulu.
