'I'm not Gabe, I'm not Stef, I'm just Keon': Bills WR talks pressure ahead of rookie campaign

Bills rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman may have been selected in the second round (No. 33) of the 2024 NFL Draft, but expectations for him seem to be just as high as any first-round pick.

This is mostly because Buffalo's wide receiver room has undergone a lot of change this offseason, including the departures of Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, who combined for 152 catches for 1,929 yards and 15 touchdowns last season.

That type of production won't be easy to replicate, but Coleman isn't putting more pressure on himself than he needs to.

"Not at all," Coleman said via Cody Benjamin of CBS Sports. "All I gotta do is come in, be myself, be who I'm supposed to be ... Because I'm not Gabe, I'm not Stef, I'm just Keon."

Still, Coleman brings a ton of upside to the position after registering 108 catches for 1,456 yards and 18 touchdowns in the past two years at FSU and MSU.

The 21-year-old should have an immediate impact, but he knows the offense's success will not solely fall on him.

"We got a lot of other guys that definitely complement my game," Coleman added. "Along with (quarterback) Josh [Allen], to make things work."

That is true. Buffalo added several other wide receivers in free agency, including Curtis Samuel, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chase Claypool and Mack Hollins. The team also has returning pass catchers in wide receiver Khalil Shakir and tight ends Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox.

The NFL has seen rookies like Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, and, most recently, Puka Nacua have great success out of the gate.

Coleman could be the next name on that list. The Bills hope that's the case following an offseason full of change.
