'I Was In Bed': Golden Knights Goalie Woken Up By Trade

Logan Thompson was in bed when he found out that he was traded to the Washington Capitals.

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson (36) looks on before the start of overtime against the Dallas Stars in game three of the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs at T-Mobile Arena.

When the Vegas Golden Knights traded Logan Thompson to the Washington Capitals earlier in this morning Thompson was in bed at the time, as he told reporters after his autograph signing at the Sphere where rounds 2-7 are being held.

Thompson, 27, was scheduled to be at Sphere today to do an autograph signing but even after learning that he was traded he still wanted to come down and talk to his fans and thank them for all the years of support.

When speaking about how he was feeling about being traded Thompson said:

"It's weird. I've never been traded before... a lot of emotions still running through me and it's gonna take a couple days to process," Thompson said. "The only thing I've ever known in the NHL is the Golden Knights, so it's gonna be different."

Thompson will be missed by the Vegas faithful. Part of the reason why he was loved by fans was due to the quality of person he is; coming down to the autograph signing even after finding out he was just traded to talk and interact with fans shows the kind of person he is.
