If Teen Mom Is Canceled, Fans Predict Bleak Future For Cast
Cory Wharton has shared that the next season of Teen Mom has yet to be greenlit by MTV. The cast is waiting on pins and needles to see if the show will be renewed, but it is on an indefinite hiatus. At the same time, OG Amber Portwood declared she was getting the show canned. She has been going on tangents and saying the most outlandish things. Amber shared that she had quit and was not returning to the franchise despite rumors that she was fired.
She has also alienated Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout, both of whom had been fierce supporters of the scorned star. Amber ultimately flipped them off on a live stream, and that caused them to be extremely unhappy with her despite her apologies. Now, the fate of the show is up in the air, and fans do not believe that the cast has much of a future. One person had this to say:
- It feels like so many people from this show squandered this chance to better their lives and thought they could ride the reality tv train straight into retirement.
Furthermore, a handful of the cast has debts and immense tax issues. If Teen Mom ends, what will they do? When Kailyn Lowry left, she had her podcasts and a handful of authored books. Chelsea Houska DeBoer got into home renovations and launched her own HGTV reality series with her husband. So, they have fared quite well. Even Farrah Abraham has found a way to maximize her 15 minutes, but could that be the case for the rest?
What Could Cause The End?
If Amber Portwood is not responsible for the ending of Teen Mom, why do fans suspect the show could be over? One fan believed the show had run its course now that it has been on for sixteen years and the kids are all grown up. There was a question if Carly’s adoptive parents sent over a cease and desist letter. At the same time, it was questioned if the cast and network believed the show would last as long as it has. So, if it ends, what will the cast do afterward? One follower made predictions, and they were mixed:
- Kristina I believe has a nursing degree or she is in the process of getting it. Amber will forever be a coach potato. Maci will try the social influencer thing and fail. Jenelle basically will be doing what she is doing now, which isn’t much. Cate and Ty will forever be in a teenagers mindset and will never grow up enough to learn the consequences of their actions.
Another Teen Mom fan added:
- They’ll have to get real jobs. Love that for them.
Some felt Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra would end up working at gas stations. Another added that everyone would split except Gary and Kristina Shirley/ Cole and Chelsea DeBoer. While some believe the show has been over for a long time, others do not want it to end. They felt that Amber Portwood would gloat too much and feel it was solely her doing.
