In a May 2025 interview with Parade, the veteran ballroom pro talked about her return to the ABC celebrity abloom competition.

Burgess, 39, competed in 14 seasons of “Dancing With the Stars.” She scored a controversial win with Bobby Bones in season 27 and wasn’t asked back for season 28, but returned for seasons 29 and 30.

For the past few seasons, Burgess has served as a judge on the Australian version of “Dancing With the Stars.” Burgess told Parade she misses competing on the TV dancing show, and hinted she’s game to return.

“I would love to be in some capacity. I would really, really enjoy that,” she said of a potential spot on DWTS season 34. “if they’re doing guest spots for it, that would be phenomenal. I’d love to jump in. I really want to always continue my relationship with the show. I adore them. They are my family, as you can see. So, whether it’s me sitting in the audience or in some other way, I will for sure be there.”

She added that she would also consider helping at the judges’ table for the U.S. show. “I truly am in love with the judging experience, and I love what I can bring to the table as having the experience on the other side, so who knows,” she shared. “But as I said, they are my family, and I’ll be involved in some way.”

Sharna Burgess Returned for a Guest Spot on DWTS Season 33

Last fall, after a multi-season absence, Burgess made a surprise return to the ABC ballroom for the show’s milestone 500th epsidoe. In a TikTok post shared by fellow pro Gleb Savchenko last November, Burgess appeared in a ballroom wearing sunglasses as Savchenko “reintroduced” her to fans. The raven-haired Australian dancer winked at the camera.

“Let’s welcome @Sharna into the ballroom! Tomorrow’s episode is about to be [fire emoji] @Dancing with the Stars #DWTS,” Savchenko captioned the clip.

Burgess replied in the comment section with, “Hi guys ? it’s good to be home. x”

Burgess previously revealed that she’d love to do one more season as a DWTS pro dancer. “If they did ask me, I think I would love to have one more season there with everyone as a way to button it up,” she told E! News in 2024.
