This Flyers forward is reportedly drawing trade interest around the NHL.
According to NHL insider Darren Dreger, Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton is generating a lot of interest in the trade market right now.
Here is what Dreger said about Laughton on the latest episode of TSN Insider Trading:
"Here's another interesting name that's been out there on and off over the last couple years but back on, and not that Philadelphia wants to get rid of him, but Scott Laughton is a centerman that is drawing a crowd. Lots of interest in him, but again, not eager to move him. So if they have to listen closely at the deadline, it's going to take a premium draft pick or likely a top young prospect or NHL player."
Laughton generated plenty of trade interest last season, so it is not too shocking to hear that he is again. He is precisely the kind of player that playoff teams love to add at the deadline. This is because he plays a gritty game, kills penalties, and chips in offensively when playing at his best. He is also known for his leadership qualities, as evidenced the "A" on his jersey.
However, as Dreger noted, the Flyers are not actively looking to move him right now. Yet, if they receive an offer they can't refuse, perhaps we could see the 12-year veteran find a new home at some point during this season.
