The former pro football player and dad to Ariana Biermann, who appeared on Don't Be Tardy and RHOA, made a name for himself on the field.
Kroy Biermann isn't just familiar to Bravo fans, but also sports fanatics. Kroy, who is the dad of Next Gen NYC cast member Ariana Biermann, made a name for himself as a professional football player. He became a household name on the field in the NFL for nearly a decade. The Don't Be Tardy dad's extensive career playing on the gridiron ranges from his time as a high school and college athlete right into his stint in the pros.
We're taking a look back a Kroy's football career.
Prior to his professional career, according to his bio, Kroy played football in high school in Montana and later college football at the University of Montana. In the NFL, Kroy played for the Atlanta Falcons from 2008 to 2015. He was selected by the Atlanta Falcons in the 5th round of the 2008 NFL draft. He was later signed to the Buffalo Bills in 2016, but became a free agent following his release from the team in September of that year, weeks after he first confirmed he would be playing for the team.
In his career as a football player, Kroy played as a linebacker. The position, according to Wikipedia, means these players are "members of the defensive team, and typically line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and so back up the defensive linemen. They play closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary)."
Amid different stages of his football career, Kroy appeared on 8 seasons of Don't Be Tardy and popped up on The Real Housewives of Atlanta during Kim's tenure on the show. In fact, it was during Season 3 of RHOA that Kroy met Kim at a charity event, Dancing Stars Of Atlanta, during his time on the Falcons.

Kroy later retired from playing football professionally. He spent his post-NFL time focused his time on raising his six kids, whom he shares with his estranged wife, Kim: Brielle, Ariana, KJ, Kash, Kaia and Kane. He's also navigating a divorce from Kim.
His daughter, Ariana, recently shared an update with The Daily Dish on how Kroy is doing as he navigates his divorce from Kim. Ariana noted during the May interview that she hadn't "spoken to him in a little bit" so she was a bit out of the loop, but did add he's now living in his own home.
"I hope he's doing amazing," she told us. "I think it's really a tough situation right now, between the family, and it goes through its waves. But he lives in his own house, as well, so I hope he's happy I'm doing great."
Ariana also recently shared how her younger siblings are doing today.
