The Chicago P.D. Season 12 finale finds the Intelligence Unit in a precarious position, akin to lying on their backs after the rug has been pulled from under them.

Reid (Shawn Hatosy) did a number on the members by stripping them of their powers and opening them up to legal consequences. "Forced to cease operations while under investigation by Internal Affairs, Intelligence goes off-book to bring down Reid. Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) and Burgess (Marina Squerciati) consider delaying their nuptials amid the uncertainty," the logline for Chicago P.D. Season 12, Episode 22, "Vows," teases. However, Intelligence is not like other units; it's more about the people than the powers they have as police officers. And one thing they won't do is go down without a fight. Images from the finale tease their desire to fight back as they regroup amid an uncertain future.
Reid has done shady things in his past, and the only thing Intelligence needs to do is find one of the worst things he's done and apply enough pressure for him to back off. Or at least that would appear to be the case based on the images below. Voight (Jason Beghe) no longer has a unit, so he turns to Reid's lackey as he follows him around. It's quite odd seeing Voight in his police uniform. However, something else is happening underground as the unit, now with all the time on their hands, finds a new space to work from as they seek to free themselves from Reid. Everyone chips in, from Trudy (Amy Morton) and Chapman (Sara Bues), who don't have much skin in the game, to Torres (Benjamin Levy Aguilar) and Burgess, who stand to lose everything if Reid's plan takes its natural course. There is no smile to be seen, hinting at the serious nature of the situation. Will they find a solution?
Burzek's Wedding Brings Joy in 'Chicago P.D.' Season 12 Finale
As the unit fights for its life, Burgess and Ruzek's wedding stands to be affected. However, it proceeds regardless of the pressure the unit is under. Images from the wedding show the couple dressed to kill, with Burgess wearing a gorgeous wedding gown and Ruzek a suit. "Fans got involved with the dress, and it was a lot of pressure!" Squerciati admitted to TV Insider. "Kim wouldn’t do strapless, but I wanted the dress to be sexy. Intelligence is an amazing job, but we are always buttoned up. I wanted Kim to let her hair down a little and have some bling!" she added. At least there are some bright parts in an episode that promises a lot of stress and gloom.
