Is RHONJ as Toxic as Jackie Goldschneider Claims?

By now, we have all seen a few episodes of Season 14 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey. And to be honest, it is a hard pill to swallow seeing the Garden State franchise dwindle into disrepair. We have Team Teresa Giudice and Team Melissa Gorga; the rest have basically chosen their sides. What has transpired this season has been women who refuse to interact unless they are physically pushing one another to their limits. Jackie Goldschneider, now a ‘friend of,’ has miraculously found her voice, much to the chagrin of most viewers.

It feels like we are watching the Twilight Zone as the lawyer tries to make a case for why she is now best friends with Tre. Jackie’s recent revelation about how toxic RHONJ is also seems to have come out of left field. For a woman who is trying so hard to stay relevant even after being relegated, she has also had a lot to say.

Let’s call Captain Planet

Okay, if you don’t know who Captain Planet is, I’m embarrassed for you. The man was an 80s cartoon whose only job was to “take pollution down to zero.” So, obviously, he is the guy I would call to help clean up the Real Housewives of New Jersey from their toxic state. Jackie recently made some bold comments about the franchise she is trying to cling to. Season 14 shows Jackie diving into the deep end to defend Tre as if they were soldiers in arms. Even though it is pretty obvious the OG is using her. The writer is no longer friends with Margaret Josephs, and according to her, the tune of the show has changed.

Jackie made a bold statement while speaking with OK! Magazine noted, “I think that social media and the way we talk about each other and everything surrounding this show has gotten so toxic. Aside from the show itself — the way we’re talking about each other has gotten so dark and so toxic, and I can’t complain about that if I’m contributing to it.”

It seems that Jackie has decided to turn over a new leaf. She shared, “I have committed that I am not saying a bad word about any of my castmates anymore, and I think that… moving forward with respect for everybody is how I would like to proceed.” The former Real Housewives of New Jersey star stated, “I think that basically it’s all gone too far and that we’re just really every day destroying the show more and more by tearing each other apart in the press. So, I’m not going to do that anymore.”

Does Jackie agree with RHONJ being canceled?

As fans learned, the network canceled the normal sit-down reunion. The women couldn’t get it together for an end-of-the-season trip. And they couldn’t figure out how to sit on a couch like adults either. But it seems that Jackie agrees with the decision to have two separate tell-alls. Jackie lamented, “I think that was the right move. I think it would just have been everybody yelling at everybody, I think there’s no way that right now, Margaret and Teresa are making up. I don’t think anybody’s making up right now. It would just have been all of us sitting there yelling at each other.”

The Verdict

So, no amount of healing meditation is going to fix this group. As a loyal viewer from day one, I do believe that the Real Housewives of New Jersey has turned a bit toxic. I wouldn’t say I like seeing the physical altercation. But even more, I don’t like seeing the active plotting to ruin someone’s life. Hearing Teresa misuse her words about John Fuda’s past was icky. Learning that Luis Ruelas allegedly tried to gather information about everyone is gross. There isn’t a doubt in my mind that Season 14 has been particularly dark.

Sadly, I do think fans will be given a reboot of the franchise. The ladies’ egos just grew too big, and the network needs to act now to save it. My prediction is we will see Dolores Catania, Rachel Fuda, and also Danielle Cabral back. Real Housewives of New Jersey used to be fun and about the family unit. Now, it’s just muddled with gross gossip and women who can’t tell fact from fiction.
