Is RHONY Canceled? Andy Cohen Finally Speaks Out

It’s been a while since we’ve heard any news about The Real Housewives of New York. Following the animosity between some of the cast members last season, some fans are wondering who will be asked back for Season 16. Or will it even return at all?

Last week, rumors swirled that RHONY could be put on an “indefinite pause,” while producers figure out cast issues. The show is taking a break, with no definite return date in sight. Some fans wonder if the show has run its course and should just be canceled.

Is RHONY in danger of being canceled? Executive producer Andy Cohen addressed that question on Radio Andy.

Andy Cohen doubles down — RHONY is NOT canceled

“I guess I need to say again, even though Bravo said it,” Andy commented earlier today on his Sirius XM show Andy Cohen Live.

“I saw it,” responded co-host John Hill. “It said, ‘Going off the air,’ is the words they used.”

“Well, I mean, I don’t know how else to say it,” Andy added. “We are between seasons on the Housewives. But what’s so interesting is last week when I was here, the Bravo execs met with 10 potential new Real Housewives of New York. This is called the casting process between seasons, and it’s heavily underway. And that’s why nothing has been announced, so I don’t know what to say.”

A somewhat befuddled Andy concluded, “It’s really odd. It just keeps going on and on. So there you go.”

So apparently, we’re just between seasons and casting decisions are being made behind the scenes. Everyone has their own ideas of who should be fired and who should be asked back. There’s even been speculation that either one or both Summer House stars Lindsay Hubbard and Paige DeSorbo could be asked to join the show. They’re both New Yorkers and in the right age bracket to bring some fresh talent to the show.

Andy addressed the rumors in a recent episode of Andy Cohen Live. “You know, it’s interesting,” he confessed. “I mean, we haven’t really had those discussions seriously at Bravo.”

But it’s not like they haven’t thought of the possiblity. We’ll just have to wait and see when the new season is finally announced.
