Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has been as stellar as any signal caller can be in the last year-plus as he continues to demonstrate his dominance.
Hurts is coming off a special season in which he achieved a career-high completion percentage (68.7%) and quarterback rating (103.7). His play helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl for the second time in franchise history after putting up 293 total yards and three touchdowns to earn the game's MVP.
Now entering his sixth season in the NFL, Hurts has established himself as one of the league's best quarterbacks. His OTAs workouts have been evident of the small he is doing as a professional to stay in that conversation.
Another stellar OTA performance by Hurts is only gift wrapping an MVP for him
At last week's OTA in front of the media, Hurts had a near-perfect day, completing 20 of 21 passes. 94 WIP Eagles reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks gave his performance a B+.
Shorr-Parks was back at sharing the stats of Hurts during the OTA workout on Tuesday. Once again, Hurts shined as he completed 15 of 17 passes with Shorr-Parks giving him a grade of A. Shorr-Parks praised Hurts' passing even without A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith there.
Shorr-Parks also shared how impressed he was with Hurts and how much he has improved during practice over the last few years.
The statistics would also show how almost every season Hurts has improved on his completion percentage and quarterback rating. 2023 was the only exception as he regressed badly in both, but 2024 was a significant improvement.
Everyone focuses on the Tush Push and how many touchdowns he gets off of that, but they are not seeing how he is improving as a passer. From his deep ball accuracy to his pocket awareness, Hurts has improved so much throwing the football.
2025 shouldn't be considered a defying year for Hurts since he has already been defined as a "winner", but don't sleep on him potentially being a sleeper pick for MVP.
